Experience the beauty of sacred music in a sacred space, the sanctuary of historic First United Methodist Church.  The program includes Adolphus Hailstork’s I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes, a suite of three psalm settings, and excerpts from Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah, featuring tenor Christopher Moore.

The concert also includes

  • “Amazing Grace!” (arr. Mack Wilberg)
  • “Salvation is Created” (Pavel Chesnokov)
  • “My God is a Rock” and “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal” (arranged by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker)
  • “If Ye Love Me” (Thomas Tallis) and
  • “Total Praise” (Richard Smallwood, arr. Patrick Barrett and Doreen Rao).

Artistic director Peter Steenblik and treble ensemble director Isabelle Peterson will conduct our 100-voice chorus, along with organist Hyunjoo Kim, pianist Isabelle Areola, and members of McGuire’s Irish Pub Pipe Band.

You can learn more about the program in a recorded video preview by our artistic director, Peter Steenblik. He’ll post it on the Choral Society’s YouTube channel on Monday, May 5.
