Our first concert of 2022 celebrated songs from musical theatre and movies.

Our 80-voice chorus, conducted by artistic director Peter Steenblik, performed to a packed house in Pensacola State College’s Ashmore Auditorium on Sunday, February 20, at 2:00 pm, in our first matinee in many seasons.

For Stage and Screen, Peter selected familiar (and not-so familiar) songs from popular shows such as Godspell, Les Misérables, The Secret Garden, Sunday in the Park with George, and West Side Story.

The program also featured award-winning songs from several hit films, including Beaches (“Wind Beneath My Wings”), The Prince of Egypt (“When You Believe”), and Working Girl (“Let the River Run”).

In addition to the chorus, our women’s ensemble, directed by Isabelle Peterson, presented a set featuring music from Wicked, The Wizard of Oz, and The Sound of Music.
