THIS PERFORMANCE WAS SOLD OUT.

We began the Advent journey to Christmas with a joyous Baroque masterpiece by one of the world’s greatest composers, Johann Sebastian Bach. Our 100-voice chorus and chamber orchestra performed his Magnificat on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 pm in the beautiful Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

In addition to Bach’s Magnificat, the program featured arrangements of two familiar carols and three selections from Handel’s Messiah, including the “Hallelujah” chorus. Our soloists were Pensacola Opera’s Jan Miller Studio Artists: soprano Rachel Fitzgerald, mezzo-soprano Camille Robles, tenor Micah Perry, and baritone Joseph O’Shea.

You can more about the program in a video preview by our artistic director, Peter Steenblik, posted on the Choral Society’s YouTube channel.
